The Difference Between AVI & WEBM Files

Both of these file formats work perfectly in OBS Studio. The AVI files are larger because they have zero compression and so your graphics card or CPU does not work as hard to show them. The downside is their file size. Each video is over 3GB.

The WEBM files use the VP9 codec. They are heavily compressed, are a fraction of the AVI size, and require maybe 5% more processing energy from your graphics card.
