Getting started with OBS studio is easy with this beginner’s guide. Scott begins the tutorials by first explaining sources and what they do. Then he explains Scenes and why it is essential to plan out what design will be reused for other scenes. Then Scott explains the importance of simplifying your sources if you have more than 10 or 20. When Scott moves on to the Audio Mixer, he highlights the importance of volume levels, audio ducking, audio sync, and output settings.

The next part of the beginners guide is the Transitions and how at first, it looks like they are relatively useless. Still, if you listen to the tutorial, you begin to see endless possibilities for making creative transitions between scenes. One incredible transition parameter is the “Stinger,” which allows you to use custom video transitions.

This “Getting Started with OBS” tutorial ends with Scott explaining the Control parameters. This section is where you tweak you live stream settings, make global changes to you audio, and manipulate your HotKey settings.
